Segue Skip checks the Bilibili or YouTube video you open, finds sponsor sections through a hosted service, and skips those sections during playback.

What leaves your browser

When automatic skipping is enabled, the extension sends the current video's platform, video ID, and part number to https://sponsor-skip-api.kittyinfra.net. A manual retry also sends a retry flag. These identifiers indicate which supported video you are watching. The service and its network providers receive normal connection metadata, including your IP address.

The extension does not send your account cookies, login details, passwords, playback audio, comments, unrelated page content, or your browser's history database. It does not include advertising or analytics code.

How the service processes videos

The service looks up cached results or retrieves publicly accessible video audio itself. It uses speech recognition and sponsor detection providers to process the audio and transcript. Public video transcripts, titles, timing information, and detection results are cached for reuse. The current backend does not automatically expire these video records; results and transcripts can be retrieved by video ID through the public API.

Network infrastructure and processing providers handle the information necessary to deliver this service and may apply their own logging and retention practices. Request IP addresses are also used for the service's abuse-prevention quota. The extension does not build or upload a separate per-user viewing-history record.

What stays on your device

The extension saves your on/off preference and cumulative time saved in Chrome's local extension storage. Up to 128 recent random skip identifiers and their durations are kept to prevent duplicate counting and support Undo. Those entries do not contain video IDs or page URLs and are not sent to the service.

Current-video timings, sponsor counts, and playback state remain in the open page or browser action state. Your “Minutes saved” total counts the time jumped over; Undo removes that skip from the total. It is not synchronized between devices.

Your controls

Turn off automatic skipping in the popup to stop new video lookups and automatic skips. Removing the extension clears its local settings and statistics. Removing it does not delete public-video processing records already held by the service.
